Creative Explorations in Community : Creativity Groups for People Living with Dissociation 1 Plurality .
Creative Explorations in Community is a unique program specifically designed for individuals living with plurality. The offerings are not therapy groups, but rather they provide a supportive community where participants can engage in various creative projects. Whether it's a one-day workshop or a six to eight-week series, I'll provide a platform for individuals to come together and explore their creativity.
The primary objective of these groups is to create an enjoyable and inclusive environment, where participants can freely express themselves. It is important to note that no special artistic or writing talents are required to participate. I firmly believe in everyone's ability to be creative.
Convenience is key, which is why I conduct the classes on Zoom, allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own homes. The bonus is that we are able to gather with and meet people all over the US and world. The program will offers a range of exciting activities, that might include SoulCollage®, small bookmaking, writing and poetry, altered books, making Finger labyrinths, and paper crafts.
I am thrilled to announce that the first two series will commence this Fall - 2023
The first series focuses on SoulCollage®, a collaging process that combines intuition and creativity.
SoulCollage® is an easy, fun tool for exploration and expression of the many parts of self. It is a process of self-discovery where you create a personal collection of collaged cards which reflect your inner and outer world using simple materials –images, scissors and glue. When you participate in a Soul Collage® class, you will have the opportunity to use your imagination and intuition to allow the cards to “speak” to you, to learn more about aspects of yourself and use the wisdom from those aspects of self to address present issues.
In the SoulCollage® series, you will have the opportunity to explore different aspects of yourself and your world. We will have a theme each week and create cards based on the theme, then do some journaling and readings using the cards. Themes may be about the suits in SoulCollage®, or topics such as nature, inner beauty and shadow sides. The workshop is largely experiential in nature with plenty of time to create and journal using your cards.
The SoulCollage® series begins on Wednesday September 27 at Noon ET. The cost is $150 for 6 Sessions. No class on October 18.
The second series centers around working on altered books, where participants can unleash their imagination and repurpose old books into unique works of art.
An altered book is a great way to give new life to an old book. It involves using different art techniques and media to transform the pages into something completely unique. You can create various pages in your recycled book through collaging images, embedding found objects, making poems out of existing text creating pockets and envelopes, painting over existing text, or even stenciling patterns on the pages. The possibilities are endless!
The Altered Book Series begins on Wednesday September 27 at 4:30 PM ET. The cost is $150 for 6 sessions. No class on October 18.
